An 11-day expedition tracing the tropical savannah and Gulf country between Mt Isa and Cairns, timed to the 2027 dry season with departures running in both directions (Mt Isa–Cairns in June/July, reversed in August). 

Highlights include a solar-boat cruise through Boodjamulla’s gorges to Indarri Falls, a walk through the World Heritage Riversleigh fossil beds, and a guided tour of the 200,000-year-old Undara lava tubes, alongside a sustained search for Gulf savannah specialities such as the Carpentarian and Kalkadoon grasswrens, purple-crowned fairywren, mangrove robin and sarus crane across spinifex ranges, mangrove creeks and floodplain wetlands.
